Quincy Q. Major Wilson is a Bahamian-American spoken word storyteller and multidisciplinary artist whose work sits at the intersection of performance, healing, and activism. At just 23 years old, he has emerged as a leading voice in Central Florida, using art as a tool for transformation and social change.
He is the winner of the 2022 Nat Turner Poetry Slam in Atlanta and the youngest finalist and winner of the 2025 Food Injustice Poetry Slam, presented by the Art Pollination Project. Quincy first stepped onto the national stage at age 17 as a member of Team X under Exodus United, performing at Yelu Swap: Youth Expressing Life Using Spoken Word and Poetry.
In 2024, he represented Orlando as part of the Orlando Poetry Slam team at Southern Fried, further cementing his presence as a voice for community, justice, and liberation. Beyond the stage, Quincy is the Founder and Executive Director of Conscious Art for Change, a collective dedicated to creating, amplifying, and transforming communities through art.
I create because it is how I breathe; being both practice and survival, discipline and expression. My art is the space where I can fully exist, where I claim agency in a world that often seeks to silence and erase me, and those who share parts of my identity: Black, queer, male, and non-neurotypical.
Through my work, I experiment, challenge, and reflect. I craft stories, performances, and visuals that move freely, confront truths, and resist erasure. I create not only to feel free but to make room for others to experience that freedom, to witness, to question, and to engage. My art is both a declaration and a tool, a way to shape space, amplify voices, and forge connection.
I am inspired by freedom, by the longing to be free in body, voice, and spirit. I am inspired by artists and truth-tellers who refused silence and chose honesty: Nina Simone, James Baldwin, Aja Monet, Martin Luther King Jr., and Ansil Saunders. Their work reminds me that art can be both beautiful and disruptive, a mirror and a call to action.
I am inspired by my family’s legacy, my lived experience, my culture, and my roots. By where I come from and who I come from. These are the stories I carry. These are the stories I tell.
